His family scattered portions of his ashes across the York, Pamunkey, and Mattaponi Rivers, waterways connected to years of fishing, working shad nets, tending crab pots, and spending time outdoors. In choosing these locations, his loved ones created a deeply personal tribute to the places where so many meaningful moments of his life unfolded.
Another portion of his ashes was placed near his wife’s plot at their home church in King and Queen. The decision created a lasting connection between husband and wife while honoring the faith community that held an important place in his life.
